Forgive the show of #FF0033 above. It clashes with the old HaloScan #0099CC badly. It's only a temporary indulgence as the Swans head into tonight's Preliminary. boynton doesn't even quite know why she's doing it - it's a kind of throwback thing, an old habit of an old religion - when such rituals are secular and no longer quite the primal rite they were, from the heart. It is the dumb gesture of a lost tribe - the floggers in the window, the mascot on the roof, the Sun masthead fresh from the milk-bar on the front door. It's the beanie on the head in Safeway, the scarf out the car window at the lights. It's for South- and it will quietly revert to #666 in due course.

Could well be, Gary.
It's the Fitzroy in Brisbane I follow (This weekend)- as a fellow lowly club that was sent north. Plus it's impossible, despite what Steve Bracks may imagine, for most Vics to barrack for Collingwood unless one had the misfortune to be born with the affliction - or to have picked it up along the way. ;)
