- with brushtail possum

According to Dr Raylene Cooke from Deakin University, Powerful Owls eat an astounding 250 to 350 possums a year. Dr Cooke analysed 2500 owl pellets to determine this fact. scribbly gum

C:Seeing that pic, I'm not surprised.
Horse sense.

T: That joke only works with the Powerful Owl, apparently.

2500 pellets - exactly? not 2498 or 2504 or around 2500?

Watch out if camping, or it could be:" A powerful owl's got my baby"!

and Tony, if Raelene is a looker then that would be Dr. Whoo Who ?

Her sentence is ambiguous though.
It doesn't say 'each' powerful owl kills 350 possums per year.
I used to live on Alexandra Ave Sth Yarra, and I swear there were more bloody brushies there than in the whole of the bush beyond Melb.

There's at least 350 in the Fitzroy gardens too.

Well, that's fewer than one possum a day. I wonder if they've thought of introducing them to NZ to keep down the invasive possums there.

who knows...

The use of any of these natural predators is not suitable in NZ.

This animal could be introduced and radio-tagged as a trial?
