One thing that struck me about that second
Morningtown (sic) pic link in the previous post was
the price of groceries!!! As far as I can tell LtoR that's :
Weeties 20c, Sqtyxlcs 33c, Carrots 10c, Pure Juice 12c, Round Steak 65cQuite a balanced bayside diet if you ask me.
Alas, I can't determine what the mystery item is for 33c. Something halfway between Weeties and Meat I guess...

I can remember paying only 25c for Sqtyxics. They were sort of SQuishy and TYckled the throat. You could get X and XX. (Of course my memory isn't what it was ...)
Thanks Zeppo. I spose petrol prices to the Penisula would account for the higher price of Sqtyxics there, as I don't think they could have jumped that much in a year (of decimal currency)Or holdiay prices perhaps? Which makes me think PinkZinc.
I had been thinking along the lines of some staple like Asprin, but yes, FXshermenz Fr*end or McKenzies MenthoidZ wuld qualify.
And now cheap sqtyxics imports are just killing the local sqtyxics harvesters.
On the other hand though, now China has to deal with the child deaths and pollution runoff caused by massive production line sqtyxics processing.
Though I do miss the carefully handpicked and aged in glass jar sqtyxic sticks you used to get at your local milkbar or vet.
These silly yuppy sTyxsticTM alcoholpop drinks just don't taste the same.
Sherbet?
Yes Indeed I miss those sqtyxic sticks too. And 33c makes you weep.
Howzat?...(Try as I might I could not resist that Gilette One Two response there... Hmm...Razors?)
Is it just me or does it suddenly look like Salami (vicar?)
It looks like sherbet to me, too.
Not sherry, cherries.
silverbeet.
Oh...
The penny drops. My Screen resolution is inferior?
So I had no idea that Sherbet was closer than Sqtyxic.
Cherries has cred, and
Silverbeet sounds good.
At squinting distance, groceries make good (silver)beet poetry.
This is making me cry. Bananas at $16 a kilo. What do the old people think? My mum seems to be taking it in her stride, but some of them must be going "crikey..."
Cast iron Balcony
I'm going bananas.
And it'll be stone fruit next.
